having a dinner at the SHY CHEF is such a unique experience that it alone is a good reason to visit Berlin.
Great food, fantastic wine and the Chef is really shy too! Everything as promised…

Having been a Shy Chef guest on Friday, March 13, I can very highly recommend this experience.
We had a wonderful evening of delicous food, meticulously prepared with fantastic effort, great wines which perfectly suited each course and enjoyable and interesting conversations with other guests and our hosts.
This is indeed your chance to discover the real Berlin. You get to dine in The Shy Chef’s living room, you meet real Berliners, which have a taste for the extraordinary and you get to hear what’s going on in the city.
So, if you are into superb food and wine and interested in meeting new people, this is your perfect weekend dinner!
Thanks so much for a wonderful night!

This is a great idea if you want to do something different, exciting and fun in Berlin. The air of mystery surrounding the evening was a thrill in itself. We turned up at an address, to discover a lovely apartment with amazing food. The hosts (without giving too much of the intrigue away) were welcoming and informative about Berlin. The food was delightful and beautifully presented, and the wine was spot on.
All in all, highly recommended and well worth it.
Top of the Pops.

We had dinner at The Shy Chef this easter and were delighted! The food and wine was extraordinary, and we had such a nice time getting to know the other guests (from Denmark, Germany, the US and Sweden) around the table. A perfect way to get inside tips about what to do and where to go in Berlin.
Thank you for this lovely experience!

We had a magnificent dinner at The Shy Chef last weekend and we were more than happy with the evening. The food was excellent and wines were spot on! Also, the other guests made the evening more than special – the frantic conversation and laughter made the evening one to remember. Truly an amazing experience, the highlight of our trip to Berlin!
Once again, thank you for very special evening!

We dined at The Shy Chef on Saturday 25th April, the eve of my birthday.
My friends and I consider ourselves foodies who have grown up and shared the joys and pleasure of eating, dining and cooking, and tonight was no exception.
The flat was lovely and the dining table was inviting of the promises of the evening ahead. The other guests were interesting and engaging and then came the first course, which was wonderfully explained, as was the wine which was carefully chosen to accompany each course.
The food was stunning and the table was lively with chatter in between the 5 courses. The sounds of ‘ooo’ and ‘ahhh’ and ‘mmm’ filled the room and there were smiles and nods from everyone knowing they’d eaten well.
It was an unexpectedly delightful evening and if they’ll have us back we’ll be sure to dine there again.

Wonderful food, company, wine, atmosphere, and music. I based a whole communication class around my visit to The Shy Chef, and shamelessly plugged you to kingdom come.

A great adventure and even better, a memorable meal. It almost didn’t happen when the shy chef sent us an email Friday morning that the party of six that made up the rest of the table cancelled reservation for that night at the last minute—a super no-no, folks!—and the shy chef couldn’t hold a dinner just for three of us.
But as it happened, Sara was at an international meeting so we proposed that if we could find 5-6 people to fill the table, would they reconsider? Like smart entrepreneurs everywhere, they agreed; since many people at the meeting had read the New York Times article but hadn’t gotten around to trying to make a reservation, we were quickly oversubscribed.
So it became a win for everyone, but particularly us diners who enjoyed a great meal, professionally prepared and served in a very congenial environment.
A Berlin must!

I love the sound of your dinners and wish I knew about you all the times I visited Berlin in the last year.
Come and see us if you are ever in London. We run a secret scandinavian brunch with a film screening on most weekends and will host regular dinners after the new year.
best of luck,
The Claptonians

Hello
Thank you for your negative comment
Many things have changed, different approach, and the people that come now are really satisfied by the high quality menu that we offer (just take a look at the menus that we had) and of course our hospitality. We have guest chefs every week in order to have a different taste every week. location also changed. We like the people to appreciate the food first of all.
Thank you though for your comment
Regards
The Shy Chef
